How to Choose the Right Waterski & Wakeboard Gloves
Having the right grip can make or break a set on the lake. Whether you are cutting hard through the slalom course or just holding on for a casual wakeboard ride, the right gloves prevent blisters and reduce forearm fatigue so you can ride longer.
Finding the Perfect Fit A waterski glove should fit very snugly when you first put it on dry. Neoprene stretches when it gets wet, so a glove that feels perfectly comfortable in the store might be too loose on the water. You want zero bunching in the palm when you grip the handle. Be sure to check out our custom sizing charts on the product pages to find your exact measurements!
Choosing Your Style
-
Kevlar Palms: For slalom skiers who need maximum durability and an aggressive grip to handle intense load crossing wakes. For the skiers that are proud to wear finger grip marks into Masterline Handles.
-
Amara/Synthetic Leather: Great for wakeboarding, kneeboarding, or recreational skiing. They offer a softer feel and great grip without the stiffness of Kevlar. Some skiers prefer this style of palm as its softer and more comfortable than Kevlar. They just accept they may wear through the palms a bit more regularly! So grab a two pack!
-
"Clincher" Style Gloves: Features a dowel built into the strap to transfer the pulling force from your fingers to your wrists. This is ideal for riders with grip strength issues or long sessions on the water. Some skiers love that connected finger feel. They really do hook on to the handle in a unique way! Andrew finds them a bit distracting to ski in but those that love them, love them alot!
We carry Canada's best selection of gloves from the brands that actually ride, including Radar, HO Sports, Stealth, Pigoski, and more!
