Inspect your ropes and its attachments before each use and replace when signs of excessive wear are indicated by unravelling, discolouration, broken filaments or other obvious signs of damage to the rope or hardware. A knot decreases the breaking strength of the rope and may cause an increase in the risk of the line possibly breaking during service.
