Mike's journey into waterskiing began in the summer of 1969, ignited by a chance invitation from his friend Laura to their family cabin on Westhawk Lake. Watching Laura's brother Billy carve through the water sparked Mike's interest, and he eagerly accepted the opportunity to try slalom skiing for the first time. From those early days on wooden Sea Glider skis to becoming a certified coach and working alongside legends like Mike Suyderhoud, Mike's passion for waterskiing only grew stronger.

As his expertise expanded, so did his involvement in the watersports community. From volunteering at tournaments to contributing to coaching manuals, Mike immersed himself in all aspects of the sport. In 1996, Shuswap Lake Waterski and Wakeboard Centre was born, offering top-notch gear and expert advice to watersports enthusiasts.

Over the years, Mike's dedication to waterskiing has never wavered. From expanding product offerings to opening a Calgary location in 2010, he remains committed to providing Canada's best service and selection. Alongside Andrew and the rest of the team, Mike continues to create unforgettable experiences for customers, ensuring each summer is filled with safe, fun-filled adventures on the water.
