At Shuswap Ski & Board, we think a lot about family - both the one you’re born into and the one you choose on the water. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on an athlete who represents both: the incredible Paige Pigozzi. As many of you know, our connection to the Rini family runs deep. My own journey as a skier has been shaped significantly by time spent in Orlando at Matt Rini’s Waterski School. Training with Matt (Paige’s dad, Radar Ski designer, and one of the most legendary coaches in the history of the sport) didn’t just sharpen my skills; it forged a partnership that has lasted for years. Watching Paige grow from a young prodigy into a world-class professional has been a privilege, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her representing Team Shuswap Ski & Board.
In a sport where many athletes specialize in just one discipline, Paige is a true "triple threat." She is a dominant overall skier, competing at the elite level in Slalom, Trick, and Jump.
Currently a key member of the Canadian National Team, Paige has successfully transitioned from a record-breaking junior career into a powerhouse professional career. If you follow the pro tour, you know she is a constant presence on the podium, known for her technical precision in the slalom course and her explosive consistency in tricks.
Paige’s trophy shelf is already crowded, but a few achievements really stand out:
- Junior Dominance: She set the stage for her pro career back in 2018 when she swept the Junior Masters, winning the Overall, Trick, and Slalom titles.
- Pan Am Games Success: Paige has been a medal machine for Canada. At the 2023 Pan Am Games in Santiago, she secured Silver in Overall and Bronze in both Slalom and Jump. This followed her breakout performance at the 2019 Lima Pan Am Games, where she took home Bronze in all three events.
- Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament: Competing at Callaway Gardens is the pinnacle for any waterskier. Paige has been a consistent finalist, including a fantastic 3rd place finish in Women’s Slalom at the 2024 Masters.
Training out of Matt Rini’s Waterski School in Florida, she is surrounded by greatness daily, tapping into the power of proximity with the best coach on the planet as her dad, her husband Pro Waterskier Robert Pigozzi behind the wheel and taking her sets between World Champions, Whitney McClintock-Rini or Joel Poland. It's no wonder shes topping podiums worldwide.Â
Despite the heavy weight of that legacy, Paige Rini has carved out her own name (and recently, a new one - you can find her on Instagram as @paigepigozzi following her marriage!) She brings a unique blend of fierce competitiveness and a relaxed, approachable "vibe" that makes her a fan favorite and a fantastic ambassador for the sport. As we head into another summer here in Canada (and our store's 30th anniversary!), we’ll be cheering Paige on as she continues to tour professionally and crush buoys around the world.
