Staff Profiles
Mike Gazley is known throughout the international world of water skiing, and has been formally recognized for his outstanding contribution to the sport. Mike is a fully certified coach, and has coached, competed and officiated in Canada, the United States, and Australia. He is also a Past-President of the BC Water Ski Association as well as a record capable driver. He has been a significant contributor to Canada's coaching manuals, often writes training, coaching and equipment articles. An active competitor, he has coached hundreds of first-timers, national champions, and consulted to industry. You might say Mike's writing the book on coaching towed water sports. There are few people better qualified to help skiers and boarders improve their skills, in a safe, fun-filled environment.

Josh McLean became a certified waterskiing and wakeboarding coach two years ago and this winter added snowboarding certification to his coaching credentials. At nineteen, Josh is a UCC Tourism Management student who spends his weekends on the water or the mountain. He has helped out at the school, over the past two seasons and will take a much more active roll this year. Like most kids who live by the lake, he enjoyed summers water skiing with his family for many years. Last season he landed a sponsorship with BlindSide, riding their Session 137cm at the National Championships as well as to his Big Air Contest victory.

Josh has also promised to blow the dust off his slalom ski and do some skiing again this year. He will continue to help out in the marina's Board Shop while spending a lot more time coaching than in the past. Josh has a relaxed, friendly coaching style and is also committed to the ongoing development of his skills so we are confident our students and guests will enjoy being on the water with him.
