February 4, 2006 Okay I admit it, I'm taking a lazy day to today, after working some crazy long hours this week. Of course when I do this there are lost of e-mails and messages to get back to. We will have the 2006 Events Calendar up later today with all the School and Pro Shop special activties like, Camps and promotions. I did want to let eveyone know that the Boat Show Showtime Newsletter did get in the mail to all our Canadian customers yesterday, so it should be in your mailbox in the next few days. On tap for next week will be a couple of new articles, one about slalom skis and another installment on the different styles of drysuits. In the mean time I'm getting revved up for tomorrow's Superbowl (NFL Football one of my off-season vices). February 3, 2006 - 2:30 AM Owning your own business can be fun sometimes. Burning the midnight oil to get the mailing labels done, while Joyce, Don and company have been furiously stuffing envelopes. They will be in the mail tomorrow no matter what, but sorry nothing left to be creative about. February 2, 2006 - Drysuits Yesterday we got Victor, Steve and Harold hooked up with some great O'Neill Boost Drysuits. If you've never owned a drysuit, I have to tell you, there is no better way to extend your season, keep you warm, and reduce muscle pulls than using a drysuit! The Boost is O'Neill's baggy style suit and is a huge hit with the windsurfers, kiteboarders, and wakeboarders. With its loose fit, it offers the capability to layer lots of clothing underneathe on the really colds days or when you're going to be out there for quite a while. On the not so cold days you'll still want at least one layer between you and the drysuit, otherwise they're kind of cold and clammy against the skin. The Boost drysuit utilizes snug fitting latex seals at the wrists and anlkes and a neoprene neck seal, which is worn inside out to create the best seal. With neoprene seals there is a bit of a trade off and most people would say that the neoprene is more comfortable but not as water tight as latex. Another cool thing about the Boost drysuit is that it has built in suspenders so us short stocky people won't have to constantly be hitching up the lower half of the suit to prevent the crotch from ending up down around our knees. Just remember when you're looking at O'Neill's size chart you'll almost always go with a size smaller than the size chart suggests when it comes to the Boost drysuit because of it very generous fit. You can learn more about all of O'Neill's and Bare's drysuit at: http://www.shuswapsnb.com/O'Neill.html Gotta go pick up the Boat SHow Flyers from the printer so we can get them in the mail to you, will write more soon February 1, 2006 People are always asking me what I do all winter, so I thought what better way than to use the web site to let them know. So from now on, as often as possible, I'm going to let everyone know what we're up to here on the Shuswap, answering Customer's questions, installing towers, fixing up the store, when we're training in California and Florida, maybe even when we sneak away to hit the slopes. Everyday we answer questions about training, equipment, and what's the best gear under these or those conditions. These question are usually about one persons particular needs but I'm convinced it's a great opportunity to share the answers with all our web site visitors, many of whom may have similar quesions. It's time to go answer e-mails now but later today or tomorrow, I'll post some of those replies. Oh, of course, feel free to e-mail us any questions or comments you have and they may end up posted here. |
